We KOTO Housing Kenya Limited in collaboration with our Consulting Architect, Musembi Mumo, today held a technical training for architects on ‘How to Design for Koto Building System’.

The technical training brought together leading architects across Kenya. They included Roy Maina from Wanda Designs, Mwongela Paul from Axis Architects among others. The architects were impressed with the technology and expressed satisfaction that KOTO building system is revolutionary and what Kenya needs to bridge the housing deficit.

“This technology is indeed an architect’s dream. It gives us an alternative, it’s fast and will not only benefit architects but all Kenyans. Its flexibility and versatility is a big plus,” said an architect, Roy Maina, from Wanda Design Limited.

Also present in the technical training was the KOTO inventor Kaine Telford, KOTO C.E.O., Moses Nderitu and other KOTO directors. Telford highlighted that with the KOTO building system, there should be no reason why children should not learn inside classrooms, “This technology allows for construction of schools even in the remote areas where you would not imagine since the panel is easy to carry,” he reiterated.

In the past, clients have approached us with their customised house plans for construction using the KOTO Building System. However these custom plans have required adjustment to fit into the KOTO Building System, thereby costing our potential clients time and money.

“The purpose of today’s training is to show you how to design for our system hence eliminating the need for adjusting customer house plans,” said Architect Musembi Mumo.

The KOTO Housing Kenya CEO, Mr. Moses Nderitu underscored the need to have architects in every county equipped to design for KOTO Building System and remained confident this will be achieved through similar trainings organized in the near future.
